New Leader’s Resource Makes Planning Easy for Catholic Teachers and Catechists

The final element in the Never Too Young suite of publications is now available: Never Too Young: Leader’s Resource. The full collection offers music and prayer resources that have been selected and prepared uniquely for youth in grades four through eight. Compiled with a “teacher’s eye,” the Leader’s Resource is helpful for those leading faith formation programs, classes and prayer experiences. Experts Mark Friedman and Janet Vogt provide practical applications to acquaint teachers, catechists and students with the Never Too Young repertoire. The Leader’s Resource offers lessons inspired by Friedman and Vogt’s classroom and liturgical experience.

Providing ready-to-use (yet easy-to-adapt) lesson plans, the new Leader’s Resource is organized to reflect the sequence of the school and liturgical year. Professionals and volunteers will find useful strategies to help guide youth through the faith and foundations of the Church.

Friedman and Vogt crafted a wide variety of lessons around the creativity of the Never Too Young composers. The result is a valuable tool that uses music as a medium to draw students mindfully closer to God through Scripture, prayer and song.

Offering more than 280 songs for use in prayer, liturgy and the classroom, the complete Never Too Young: Spirit & Song for Young People collection is just right for upper elementary and middle school students. Composers who contributed their talents to this project include some of the best-known contemporary and children’s music artists in the Church today. With the new Leader’s Resource, using these songs to support a range of catechetical topics is easier than ever.
