spiritandsong.com’s popular March Music Madness contest returns

It’s that time of year again. Now in its fourth year, March Music Madness is a lively promotional event that generates a high level of user interaction with the spiritandsong.com website.

The brainchild of Paul Raspa, web systems manager for spiritandsong.com, March Music Madness is an annual online competition that is modeled after the brackets of the NCAA college basketball tournament. Participants listen to spiritandsong.com tracks and vote on their favorite songs to determine a champion.

During the past two years of March Music Madness, the spiritandsong.com website experienced a dramatic increase in visitors. Voters have a chance to win prizes throughout the tournament, including gift cards good for CDs or merchandise available on the site.

All spiritandsong.com artists have at least two songs in competition. Starting this year on Monday, March 12, site visitors will vote to narrow down the Super 64 to the Sweet 16, the Elite 8, the Final Four, and the Champion, crowned on April 5 at the end of the tournament. The competition can become quite heated, with popular songs going head-to-head right down to a round’s midnight cutoff.

Among the songs competing in the first round are Tom Booth’s “The Lord Upholds My Life,” Steve Angrisano’s “Emmanuel,” and Ceili Rain’s “Whatever Makes You Dance.” Which song will make past the Final Four to seize the championship? Find out for yourself by going to: spiritandsong.com/march.
