A gifted composer, Arsenio uses the traditional folkloric musical style of New Mexico in his work. The inspiration for the texts of his songs comes from prayers, biblical texts and liturgical themes. He is a professor at the University of New Mexico and Northern New Mexico Community College, teaching political science, Southwest U.S. history and Chicano Studies. Arsenio has a master's degree in studies of the Southwestern United States and Political Science, along with a certificate from the Pastoral Institute of Kansas City (Missouri) in theology, ministry, spirituality and development of the Hispanic church in rural areas. He is currently director of the Mexican choir at Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe Church in Taos.
