IFor the last thirty years, I have been singing and directing Latin plainchant. To make this setting accessible to everyone, I composed the melody lines in a comfortable range, with the instrumentation serving as background to support the voices.

What was your inspiration for Belmont Mass?
I wanted to write a mass that had the sound of Latin chant, but that still worked and felt natural in English. The melodies came easily as I spoke the texts out loud. I hope people will hear in it a link with the past, and at the same time a modern sound in the accompaniment. « Hide
