Ken gives us the inside story to Mass of the Most Holy Trinity. How does this setting engage parishioners at Mass?
A primary role of liturgical music is to support the singing of the assembly. I composed Mass of the Most Holy Trinity for a parish community, where all generations come together at Eucharist. My parish started singing this Mass almost immediately, and I believe other parishes will, too. The assembly’s melody is supported by SATB parts that parish choirs will enjoy singing.

What was your inspiration for Mass of the Most Holy Trinity?
My ministry has always been about breaking down the arbitrary barriers between the old and the new. This is a central theme in Mass of the Most Holy Trinity. Modern musicians can learn much from the beautiful soaring melodies of traditional hymnody, while traditional musicians will find in contemporary music an approach that resonates with many worshippers today. « Hide
