Description Contents Composers
Piedras Vivas ("living stones") is a collection of music for celebrating the sacraments, particularly Christian initiation, baptism, first Communion and confirmation. The texts, written by liturgist, theologian and composer Bernardo Velado, are rich and broad enough that most songs can also be used in liturgies throughout the year. "Cristo, Luz del Mundo," for example, though originally composed for baptism, is perfectly suited for use in the Easter Vigil. The nine songs for general use are especially appropriate for gathering and Communion. Service music offerings include a setting for the Holy and the Great Amen, three Gospel acclamations and five memorial acclamations.
