Music that lifts hearts -- and raises roofs: solemnities at cathedrals. Music that whispers -- a cantor leading a small, Monday morning assembly. Texts and melodies that give voice to our inner devotion.

Vince believes that all of us, as disciples of Christ, are on the road to Emmaus, a lifelong pilgrimage toward our heavenly home, toward the kingdom of God: a destination known to us and closer every day. His latest release is an outstanding selection of new music to guide and strengthen on us on our way.

With an introduction sung by Vince's four-year-old daughter, "I Will Hold You Near" is a lullaby God would sing to us, his children. "It's More Than Wine and Bread" is a touching song of appreciation for the Mass and especially the Eucharist.

Known for his off-the-wall style and quirky sense of humor, the Banana Guy uses a didgeridoo in "We Have Come." The Aboriginal instrument adds an earthy, universal, mystical sound to this gathering song. The title track rocks with abandon, guitars, keyboards, drums, bass and Vince on vocals all working together to weave a distinctive contemporary Christian sound.

Though the destination's known, it's not always clear how to get there. Vince's help comes in the form of his Mass of the Pilgrimage, a welcome new setting for the liturgy. Offering seven new songs, a well-crafted cover, and a complete Mass setting for today's church, Destination Known is great listening, and a youth minister's dream come true.
