The name Flor y Canto -- Spanish for "flower and song" -- has its roots in the Aztec culture. The indigenous peoples of Mexico believed that only through "flower and song," or the "flower of the song," could they understand and express the truth. The "flower of the song" was the fruit of an inner encounter with the Divine.
