Disciples in Prayer is an exciting new resource that guides small study and prayer groups in their reflection on the Lectionary readings throughout the Church year. The result of a collaboration between OCP, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) Secretariat for Evangelization, and the U.S. Commission on Catholic Evangelization, Disciples in Prayer is designed to help each believer become a more active disciple of Jesus Christ.

Disciples in Prayer contains synopses of the Sunday readings, responsorial psalm texts, musical selections and suggestions, and study group questions based on three themes: personal spiritual growth, community growth and outreach into and beyond the community.

The participant's book features an inspiring foreword by Cardinal Roger Mahony, Archbishop of Los Angeles, and an introduction by Paulist Father John Hurley, CSP, director of evangelization for the USCCB. Paulist Father Ricky Manalo, well-known as an OCP clinician and composer, provides an introduction to the music. The CD includes a full-length recording of each song in the book.

This is an ideal resource for parishes that have completed diocesan and national renewal programs and are striving to enhance or implement small faith-sharing groups in their community. Especially suited for personal reflection, liturgy teams, RCIA and small faith-sharing groups, Disciples in Prayer is an excellent tool for all who journey toward the Easter sacraments.
