    The Saint John Paul II National Shrine in Washington, DC will host the official World Youth Day Cross and Icon on Saturday, August 25, 2018 as part of the international procession in advance of the World Youth Day event in Panama this coming January. The shrine is only one of five venues in the continental United States that has been selected for this honor.

    This historic event will include a morning procession of the Cross and Icon along the National Mall with stops at various Washington, DC landmarks. The procession will then be followed by an afternoon of events and formation at the Shrine with special guest speaker Sr. Miriam James and nationally acclaimed recording artist Steve Angrisano!

    Come take part in this once-in-a-generation celebration of the Visit of the World Youth Day Cross, as it makes its first pilgrimage to the United States in twenty-five years! Youth, young adults, and families are all invited to take part in this historic event! here.
