Released in 1985, this is the sixth collection by the St. Louis Jesuits. Featuring a balanced selection of festive and solemn tunes—22 in total—The Steadfast Love is an ideal resource for liturgy and for personal contemplation.

With fast tempo tracks that celebrate Easter and the wondrous deeds of God, sentimental lyrics that ask God to warm our hearts with his Spirit and hymns featuring dynamic choirs that give voice to our deepest desires of redemption and guidance, the collection continues to be a treasured OCP classic.

In “All Shall Be Well,” trumpets and choir offer a glorious mood for Easter, with the crescendo building up to celebrate and dance for "Jesus is alive." Other playful and spirited pieces in this compilation are “With Drums and Dancing,” “Sing All the Earth,” “Awake, Arise” and “Praise to You, Lord Jesus Christ”.

When looking for pieces for initiation, “The Christ Of God” is a classic, honoring all the servants of God. Based on Luke's reading, the quick tempo song “My Spirit Takes Joy” is a cherished opening or closing song for Marian celebrations.

Thirty years later, the collection remains current, addressing social concerns such as social justice with the song “The Beatitudes” or “God's Poor Ones,” which reminds us that his kingdom welcomes and consoles all.

Themes of courage and penance are present in “In the Shadow of Your Wings,” offering refuge for times of anointing or when a loved one has passed. “Like the Deer” (Psalm 42–43) encourages us during times of hardship, reassuring us that God will indeed respond to our calling.

Compositions such as “Shepherd Kind and Holy,” “Guide Me O God” and “Songs of the Angels” accompany our yearning for a light that will guide us home to our God in times of darkness. “I Found the Treasure,” “Songs of the Angels” and “A Song of Hope” strengthen our faith, acknowledging that God is listening to us and waiting for us to find Him.

“Send Us Your Spirit” brings a sweet finale to this collection. Based on a Gregorian hymn, it is ideal for the Easter Vigil liturgy, newly baptized and confirmations—a song that expresses our desire and hope that the Lord will hear our prayers and heal our hearts.
