Julie's fourth album overflows with happiness, humor and faith. Hearing it, you can't help but be caught up in the joy, the dancing, the laughter. It's the perfect musical antidote to the doubts and fears we all face, her buoyant melodies and uplifting lyrics holding you like the healing hug of a friend.

Like previous collections, Joy in the Dancing is narrative and autobiographical, each of the 12 original folk-pop songs telling a story—a story of how God has moved in Julie's life, answering prayer and setting her heart on fire with His love.

Two songs were inspired by her visit to the Pimpollo orphanage in Oaxaca, Mexico. Written and sung in beautiful Spanish, "Una Cancioncita de Ella"—a little song about her—is a breathtaking song about Mary, a woman "you should know," who "gave her whole life to the Father never thinking to say no." "En Sus Ojos" is a short, sweet, a cappella homage to the orphans, in whose eyes Julie sees the heart of Jesus.

Julie's tenderness for little ones also comes out in "Faith of a Child," a lively duet that reflects on the innocence of childhood. Inspired by a retreat gone awry, "My Heart's on Fire" is a lighthearted, Southern-gospel style tune that expresses Julie's good sense of humor.

Thanks to Julie Hoy, our joy is in the listening.
