This octavo contains settings of both Psalm 121 and 130, utilizing virtually identical music for each. The emphasis on a call-and-response form allows the music leaders (in this case, cantor and SAB chorus) and the assembly to communicate with each other more easily. Though not verbatim and thus out of favor as a responsorial psalm, these settings nevertheless have multiple liturgical uses, including at funerals, penance services, and RCIA ceremonies, such as the Scrutinies.
