Leo Nestor is a well-known conductor, composer, professor and organist. He is the founder, conductor and artistic director of the American Repertory Singers, a professional vocal ensemble in the nation’s capital with eight recordings of critical acclaim to their credit. He is also a founder of the Conference of Roman Catholic Cathedral Musicians.
Active as a composer, Leo’s works are published by ECS Publishing, MorningStar Music, Selah Music Company and OCP. He received his undergraduate degree in composition from California State University, Hayward, and his master’s and doctorate, awarded with highest honors, from the University of Southern California.
Leo is the Justine Bayard Ward Professor of Music at The Catholic University of America, in Washington D.C., where he is director of choral activities and director of graduate studies in liturgical music. Fluent in Spanish, he can present workshops in English, Spanish or bilingually.
