Melanie uses her experience as a parish music director and voice instructor in her workshops for cantors, choirs and lectors. She is a faculty member of NPM Cantor Express, a program she developed with Jim Hansen, with whom she frequently collaborates for events on the principles of interactive liturgy.
The editor for the NPM publication The Liturgical Singer, Melanie also served as a major contributor to OCP’s Cantor Basics, Revised Edition.
