OCP wins copyright infringement lawsuit

OCP was cleared of alleged copyright infringement in a ruling on January 25, 2024. This is a positive conclusion to five years of litigation in response to a 2019 lawsuit claiming that composer Bernadette Farrell’s beloved song “Christ Be Our Light” infringed on the copyright of Vincent Ambrosetti’s song “Emmanuel.”

OCP filed a motion for summary judgment on this case in March 2022. In the January decision, the court ruled in our favor that the facts presented in this case could not support a finding of copyright infringement.

OCP is grateful that justice has prevailed in this case, as well as for the hard work of our attornies at DuBoff Law Group and our in-house counsel, Katie Preiss.
