We Are One

Originally composed by Janèt Sullivan Whitaker as a theme song for a youth conference of the same name, “We Are One” is a timely song for every generation. We acknowledge our differences, even as we celebrate our unity as the Body of Christ.

We are different from each other, you and I,
yet we share this gift of faith in the God who made us.
Pray for me. I will pray for you,
and we’ll sing together as we walk this path of life.

We are one, we are one:
the Body of Christ, blessed and broken.
As one family, we believe that if we die to ourselves,
we will rise up with him,
forever united in love.
We are one!

Thy kingdom come,
thy will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
