Composers & Authors
The OCP family of composers and authors includes many of the best-known, most beloved liturgical composers, contemporary songwriters, authors and event presenters in the Church today. Hailing from all parts of the world, from England, Canada and Spain to Australia, Latin America and the U.S., they combine decades of pastoral ministry experience with incredible artistic gifts.
Author, composer, educator and liturgical musician, Tom Tomaszek is a sought-after presenter for national and regional events and retreats. He holds a master’s in theological studies from St. Francis Seminary in Milwaukee, and a master’s in education from the University of Wisconsin. Currently, Tom and his wife, Katherine, direct The Five Loaves, a ministry that provides methods, event opportunities, and online resources for spiritual growth and renewal.
Bob Hurd has served as a teacher, composer and liturgist in various pastoral and academic settings. He currently teaches in the Graduate Pastoral Ministries Program of Santa Clara University. His widely used liturgical music is published by OCP and is featured in numerous hymnals in the United States, Canada, Great Britain and Australia.
Lourdes Montgomery was born in Havana, Cuba, and came to the United States at the age of five. She studied classical and jazz piano at Miami-Dade Community College and later devoted herself to the study of music theory, music composition, and classical piano at the University of Miami.
Mark Friedman has been a liturgist, cantor and music director for more than 20 years. He is the composer, with Janet Vogt, of seven collections of music for young people published by OCP. Mark has presented workshops, concerts and keynotes around the country. Currently, he is a music minister and liturgist at St. John Fisher Parish in Cincinnati.
