Available on CD for the first time, Deliver the Word is the first recording by Leon C. Roberts, who passed away in 1999. Recorded in 1985 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Washington, D.C., it represents a great contribution to gospel music in America and also includes Leon's well-known song "The Light of the World."

Deliver the Word features a stunning performance by the St. Augustine Gospel Choir and the St. Augustine Youth Choir, both under Leon's direction. Instrumentation includes piano, Hammond organ, guitar, bass, percussion, strings and horns.
