M.D. Ridge began composing because she couldn't find music that fit her choirs' resources. With more than 20 years of experience, she writes strong, singable, and scripturally based compositions that help choirs make the most of limited resources.
M.D. is also a prolific author, with articles appearing in
Today's Liturgy,
The Hymnology Annual,
Liturgia y Canción, and
Pastoral Music. With Michael R. Prendergast, she is co-editor of
Voices from the Council. A long-time veteran of parish music ministry, she retired in November 2007. She continues to write music, books and articles, and present workshops, retreats and talks.
