Dufner’s hope-filled hymn text was inspired by the Prayer of St. Francis and Catholic social teaching: it is a prayer of praise and thanksgiving for God’s active presence in the past and an expression of faith in God’s continued blessing in the future. Kingsbury has crafted a stirring concertato setting of this text based on RENDEZ Á DIEU for SATB choir, descant, and organ, which can be further enriched by using the separately downloadable parts for flute and trumpet.
